A few words from Matt...
The intent of the wine club is to give members an appreciation of what it
takes to make (and enjoy) fine wine, and have a ton of fun in the process.
Prior to general availability, members will have access to new
releases. Due to the heat we have in California, we're shooting for three
shipments per year: spring, fall, and winter. They'll consist of six
bottles, and whenever possible those six bottles will be those
coveted new releases. Currently the winery is trying to get to eighteen new
wines so that in each shipment the member enjoys six separate lots of wine.
As a member of the wine club, you are entitled to 25% off cases of wine
purchased and two members only wine functions...
Our first function was this fall at the winery - the crush party. It
was an afternoon and evening event. The afternoon was spent focusing
on the 2005 crash. A lot of members and friends helped Matt make wine, get
dirty, and see how much they could get in the way during a very busy time
at the winery. The casual dinner was a great success, with entertainment
provided by Matt, who was trying to finish punch downs, press wine, and
all those other winery things. Check out the Gallery for some great shots!
The second function is planned for spring where we intend to have a personal
tour of Hatcher vineyard given by Matt, followed by food and fun.
Future activities will be based on the interests of Sewell and Matt Hatcher. We
have several other activities we look forward to sharing with you.
